Archery is a sport which is often perceived to be very challenging. For those who have never shot before, hitting a target seems hard enough, while hitting a bull’s-eye seems virtually impossible. But it’s really not. With a little patience, practice and a good coaching, first timers can have immediate success with this sport. Consequently, kids are shocked and amazed that with a little bit of patience and practice they can have immediate success by hitting the target. This new-found success inspires them to work toward hitting the bulls-eye. And with a little bit of persistence and practice a shooter can achieve success quickly catapulting their self-esteem and confidence. For this reason, beginner archery is one of my favorite activities to do with kids.
In addition, this sport is very calming. Participants are taught to focus on their breathing and physical form while shooting. Those who practice the art of archery on a regular basis often find it to be a great therapeutic tool for dealing with stress. Come join us for a few rounds of archery; you will be pleasantly surprised and glad you did.
