Job Description
We are a seasonal business that operates on weekends and holidays May - September. Our standard shift is 7 - 8 hours long. For those who prefer to get as many hours as possible, we have shifts that are 8 - 10 hours in length. While most of our business is conducted on Saturdays and Sundays. We may offer shift opportunities for those who are interested in working with groups in the evenings during the middle of the week.
Adult Applicants: Adult applicants are preferred. This is a great part-time job and an opportunity to make some money in a fun work environment.
College Applicants: We realize some students may not be able to work the entire summer due to school, but don't hesitate to apply. Our busiest time is June and July.
High School Applicants: We only hire mature students who have the flexibility to work the whole summer and through September.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist customers as appropriate
Check customers in and verify their waivers
Fit customers with life jacket
Give instruction and demonstrations
Carry boats and kayaks
Clean and disinfect all boats and gear
Answer phones if needed
Take reservations
Ensure the safety of customers and teammates
Maintain professionalism at all times
Ring sales and restock product as needed
Requirements
Must be able to work outdoors
Flexibility is a must
Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
Must be able to get in and out of the water
Must be able to bend, stoop, lean and stand
Good communication skills
Work as a member of a team
Preferred Skills
Paddling experience
Ability to drive a van with a trailer
Experience with point of sale, handling money
Customer service experience
Experience answering phones
Experience teaching groups
Paddling or rescue accreditations
First Aid and First Responder certifications
Boating knowledge
Fishing knowledge
